World Bank Delegation Visits NUSA’s Development Projects in Naria

Recently, a delegation from the World Bank visited various development projects implemented by Naria Unnayan Samity (NUSA) in the Char area of Naopara, Naria Upazila, Shariatpur District, with financial support from PKSF.

During their visit, the delegation explored initiatives related to agricultural development, women’s empowerment, healthcare services, microfinance for small enterprises, the Samriddhi project, and environmental conservation. They also exchanged views directly with local beneficiaries and community members to gain a first-hand understanding of the effectiveness and impact of these initiatives.

The delegation remarked, “NUSA and PKSF are collectively making a significant contribution to improving the living standards of people in char areas. The participatory planning process and sustainable implementation of these initiatives are creating visible and positive transformation.”

NUSA’s Executive Director, Majeda Shawkat Ali, said, “The visit by the World Bank delegation is a great inspiration for us. We remain committed to further strengthening the trajectory of development in this region.”

PKSF officials also explained that the successful implementation of these projects sets a powerful precedent for climate-resilient and socially-inclusive development. This visit brings new hope to the community and is expected to foster greater international interest and collaboration in future initiatives.
