The visionary of private development organizations, National Hero Colonel (Retd.) Shawkat Ali, as the founder of Naria Unnayan Samiti (NUSA), took initiatives to implement various activities aimed at empowering disadvantaged communities and women, and improving their socio-economic conditions. Guided by his ideals and direction, we continue to work toward the development of the organization.

At present, by elevating the organization to the national level and expanding activities across 6 districts of 3 divisions, we are working to ensure good governance and integrity among members, maintain gender equality, establish justice, provide legal support for social protection, and rehabilitate persons with disabilities. Through increased transparency and efficiency, we are supporting the socio-economic development and poverty alleviation of poor, vulnerable, and marginalized communities.

Currently, NUSA is actively contributing to the achievement of the Government’s SDG targets by implementing various social development programs such as education, health, sanitation, disability rehabilitation, improving the quality of life of senior citizens, making unemployed youth self-reliant through skills development, encouraging higher education for underprivileged students through scholarships, undertaking disaster management initiatives, and promoting gender equality and inclusive development. We are proud to contribute to the socio-economic advancement of the underprivileged communities in our working areas.

With the combined efforts of the Advisory Council, General Council, Executive Council, and staff members at all levels, we successfully achieved our expected outcomes in the last financial year (2024–2025), for which I extend my sincere gratitude to everyone.

I firmly believe that establishing good governance in all sectors requires systematic reform of government and non-government organizations, improvement of their functions and capacities, and most importantly, the adoption of integrated, united, and timely initiatives. Good governance and integrity are our commitments.
